Makeup Tips - Your Foundation

Everyone has their own natural beauty.  Some have a harder time than others finding and flattering that natural beauty.  It can be difficult, I agree, but let’s make it easier.  Ladies have been using makeup to enhance their beauty for centuries.  Although times and makeup have changed over the years the reasons for makeup have not changed all that much.

These days the cosmetic industry is booming and it can be overwhelming to walk through the plethora of products.  With all the products out there on the market today where does one start?  It is foundation, liquid or mineral, that provides the case for most women’s beauty regimen.

Not all foundation is created equally and the variety of foundations can vary by ethnicity and skin type.  We must also remember that my skin and your skin are different and we each have our own needs.  Next there is where to buy your foundation since you can buy it a drugstore, in a department or online.

The first thing we must consider when choosing a foundation is what type of foundation works best for your skin type.  What condition is your skin?  Do you have dry or flaky skin?  Maybe you have oily skin or maybe you have combination skin.  If you are not sure what skin type you have it maybe best to talk to consultant.

After determining your skin type, you have to decide which foundation formula would best suit your needs.  If your skin is dry, hydrating or moisturizing foundation formulas are great choices to provide a great base for your beauty regimen.  Oil control or oil-free foundations work best for the oily skin.  And if you are prone to breakouts, look for formulas that cater to acne-free and oil-free.  When you have combination skin, you need to find a foundation formula that would suit both oiliness and dryness.

Pick two or three shades that you think might best suit your skin tone.  Fair skin might require a foundation with rosy undertones while a darker complexion might need something more yellow-based in color.  Once you have picked two or three colors apply the foundation shades at various places along your jaw line.  Your skin in this area is most true to the type of makeup color you need.  Whatever you do, don’t apply the makeup on your wrist or hand because these are not optional areas to best determine the foundation’s tone and color.  Natural light is best to look how well the foundation blends in with your skin.  Your best selection would be the one foundation that is virtually undetectable on our skin.  You should be wearing your makeup, not the makeup wearing you.  If you are still having trouble choosing a foundation shade look for companies that maybe able to do custom blending.

Be sure to think about what you want to out of your foundation.  Do you want light and natural or something that makes your skin more luminous for evening events?  Do you want a satin or matte finish?  Decide what role your makeup will play in your daily life and activities and choose the best foundation that fits that role.

Great Blotchy Skin Remedies

Blotchy skin on one’s face can be very difficult to deal with. Since remedies for red blotchy skin take a lot of time and they cannot cause the problem to disappear for good, a great makeup for blotchy skin is what may save the day. Applying the right type of foundation to cover blotchy skin is of the utmost important. Here are some useful makeup tips for blotchy skin that you may apply, in order to enhance your appearance.

Preparation
Makeup for blotchy skin can only do so much. This only means that you have to give the blotchy skin on your face a proper makeover even before applying any makeup. Preparation for blotchy skin includes using exfoliating creams and smoothing lotions that will make your skin smoother and more even, as well as ready for applying makeup.  Many people forget an important set, the toner.  Toner, one without alcohol of which we carry two brands, corrects Ph and prepares the skin to absorb the moisturizer.  The moisturizer is the key to mineral makeup application.  Make sure you apply your mineral makeup shortly after applying your moisturizer.  We carry two great moisturizers Naturally Essential and Deluvia.

Less is more
Many women tend to put on a lot of makeup in order to cover blotchy skin, but this is the worse thing that they can actually do. Heavy makeup tends to cake up, giving a nasty appearance, so you should refrain from doing so. The best makeup tips for blotchy skin teach that less is more and this applies to foundation, lipstick, blush, eyeshade and so on.

The right foundation for blotchy skin
We truly believe that mineral makeup is the best makeup for blotchy skin.  Mineral makeup can be blended to match your skin tone, it is very economical, all natural with no skin irritating chemicals and with a little practice easy to use.  Mineral makeup provides good pigmentation and along with the foundation to match your skin tone you will also what to find a color corrector.  For example, green color corrector applied prior to your foundation will tone down any redness which is common in blotchy skin.

Take your time
The best makeup tip for blotchy skin is to take your time. While applying makeup, and especially foundation, put on a little product, stretch it as evenly as possible and then wait for the results to show. If you are satisfied, you can resume your normal makeup habits, but, if you are not, you can add a little more foundation for blotchy skin and wait again.  Always work from the outside of the face and work your way inside.  Use a concealer or color corrector first and then apply your foundation.  Note: A good quality make up brush is a must.  Pick a soft, silkly brush that will not irritate the skin.

These simple makeup tips for blotchy skin are meant to help you enhance your appearance and hide skin imperfections.  If you have additional questions please feel free to contact us.
